   The National Search and Rescue Plan is a document produced published by the Civilisation in 2003 to guide search and rescue for PNG.
2. National Maritime Search and Rescue Plan (NATMARSARPLAN)
3. MOU PNG – Australia
   Mutually agreed arrangements between PNG and Australia in assisting each other in the area of search and rescue. It outlines authority processes and procedures in executing the MOU.
4. MOU PNG – Republic of Indonesia
   Mutually agreed arrangements between PNG and Republic of Indonesia in assisting each other in the area of search and rescue. It outlines authority processes and procedures in executing the MOU.
5. MOU PNG – Solomon Island
   Mutually agreed arrangements between PNG and Solomon Island in assisting each other in the area of search and rescue. It outlines authority processes and procedures in executing the MOU.
6. SOLAS Chapter V
   Contains 35 Regulation pertaining to Safety of Navigation, regulations 7, 8, 11 and 29 are important to search and rescue.
7. UNCLOS Article 98
   Requires Masters of Vessels to render assistance to persons and vessels in distress under number of conditions
8. SAR Convention 79
   Convention is designed to improve existing arrangements and provide a framework for carrying out search and rescue operations.
9. PNG SRR Map
   Indicate the geographical boundary of the area PNG is responsible for search and rescue.
10. Navigational AREA X Map
    Indicates the geographical boundaries of the surface of the earth broken up by IMO to facilitate safety and navigational responsibilities to ensure safe shipping.
11. PNG,Australian, Solomon and Indonesian SRR
    Indicates the geographical boundary of the area each country is responsible for search and rescue.
